Celiacs: Do You Want to Have a Gluten-Free Kitchen?  

Start Incorporating These Food Products Into Your Fridge

Gluten-free kitchen? Is that even a thing? Of course it is. If you are celiac, you must take serious actions to remove wheat, rye and barley completely from your diet. You already know that gluten is your enemy, and what do you do with enemies? You fight them, you cut them off your lives, you don’t get close to them. Same here. Treat gluten as your enemy, as something you don’t want to deal with, something you want to make disappear. And once it’s gone, you’ll feel relieved. I have told you how my husband Matt was diagnosed with celiac disease a couple of years ago, and his gluten intolerance is surprisingly high. Living with him was not easy because when I met him I was not well informed about celiac disease and the gluten-free lifestyle he needs to follow. I used to eat gluten in front of him everyday until I decided to cut it off from my diet. After doing that, he stopped feeling sick. He was somehow getting cross-contaminated food from the crumbs of my food. We no longer keep gluten in our kitchen and that makes me feel happy because I see Matt not getting cross-contamination. So if you want to also have a gluten-free kitchen like us, you should start by removing any food products that contain gluten. Don’t think that because you have it sealed in a cabinet is safe. There is always the risk of someone spilling it out and then after cleaning the counter top, the gluten crumbs may not be fully removed. So for your peace of mind, it is better to remove wheat, rye and barley 100% from your kitchen and start shopping for the right products. A very important step is to buy safe gluten-free products that will keep you healthy and won’t bother your stomach. Now if you are willing to make your kitchen gluten-free, start incorporating the following food products we have tried and simply love, and have made Matt feel good! You may be familiar with the brands we will share with you, but if you are not, you should really try them because they are super safe for celiacs!  

If you haven’t tried any food products from this brand, you should run to the store and try them right now. Without a doubt, Against the Grain is our favorite gluten-free brand. Despite their products don’t have the Gluten-Free Certification, they are very safe for celiacs. You won’t believe how tasty their products are until you try them. My husband and I eat every single morning their Sesame Bagels because they taste amazing, they are made with few ingredients, and they feel really good in our stomachs. We just heat them in the microwave for 50 seconds, and we eat them with a little bit of butter. If you want to have safe and tasty breakfasts, include these bagels in your diet.  

I know bacon may not be the healthiest food, but once in a while we like including in our breakfasts some pancakes with delicious bacons. We choose Applegate Organic No Sugar Bacon because they are made of organic pork, water and salt, they have no spices nor artificial ingredients or preservatives, they don’t add antibiotics to their products, and the animals are fed vegetarian. Matt and I have tried this bacon and he has never felt sick after eating it. So if you are looking to buy bacon, Applegate has the best option for you.  

We discovered this product very recently. For a while we were looking for a Gluten-Free Certified tomato sauce that would make our cooking easier and not bother Matt’s stomach. Normally we make our own homemade tomato sauce from scratch for pasta, pizzas or as a dip sauce. But sometimes we are in a rush and we want to have the sauce ready. Since we recently found Organicville Tomato & &asil Pasta Sauce from Sky Valley Foods, we always have in our fridge one. It has been really good in Matt’s stomach, it tastes really good, and you can cook different meals with it. So if you are looking to have a gluten-free kitchen, don’t forget to include this safe and tasty tomato sauce in your fridge.  

Our fridge wouldn’t be the same without Against the Grain. No matter what day it is, we always have a food product from this brand in our fridge. Lately we have not stopped eating their Pepperoni Pizza, and we always have at least 2 of them in our fridge. Matt and I are obsessed with the flavor and how good it is in our stomachs. I normally don’t eat a whole pizza because that is a lot, but with this Pepperoni Pizza I can’t resist and I end up eating it all by myself. They use not so many ingredients which is a super plus, and the taste is probably the best you will ever find in a pizza. Their Three Cheese Pizza is really good too, so if you want to give any of those a try, you won’t regret it.  

A gluten-free product you should always have in your fridge is Lifeway’s Low Fat Plain Kefir. It is perfect for making smoothies, milkshakes or just for drinking it by itself. We like the plain flavor because it is all natural, has no sugar added, is high in protein and calcium, up to 99% lactose-free and of course, it is gluten-free. Lifeway’s Kefir is part of our diets because it is safe for Matt to drink, and it helps us digest better after eating. So if you are looking to buy safe gluten-free products for your kitchen, don’t miss this Kefir.  

Who doesn’t like desserts? And who doesn’t like ice cream? Haagen Dazs is our favorite gluten-free ice cream brand so far! Their Vanilla flavor is made with simple ingredients, we don’t like processed food with many preservatives added. This ice cream feels really good in Matt’s stomach because it is celiac safe. So instead of buying processed cakes or desserts with many sugar and non-healthy ingredients, try this delicious option!  

7. Original Baguettes - Against the Grain 

Another product we love from Against the Grain is their Original Baguettes.  

They taste as good as the bagels, the flavor is amazing!  

It is very hard to find a safe and good gluten-free bread brand, but this one is the best so far.  

The baguettes are perfect for eating them with a little bit of butter or for making a sandwich.  

You should definitely add this product to your gluten-free fridge!
